Waggy Races

The preparation for a Waggy Races event is always a bit hectic because I have so many doggy designs to create or get cut beforehand.   Of course its not always possible to have every breed, or crossbreed, in which case I will create a custom design for people.  For the Waggy Races event last Sunday on Portstewart Strand, I created a custom design which was available on pre-order before the event, so customers could collect them on the day to save them faffing about while they mentally prepare for the big race!!

The day itself was absolutely perfect weather wise-  blue skies and sunshine across the strand with little to no wind.  Neil and Ruth are uber organised for these events at this stage of the game, having held 8 previous waggy race events across NI.  This was their biggest to date!

I set up shop on the strand next to the lovely ladies from Murphys Barkery, Dogease Animal Wound protection and Canine massage therapy.  My little four legged friend was very happy at this stage of the day, but by the time all the entrants appeared at the starting line, she had disappeared under the car to shake!  A few treats later and she was back out and getting a cuddle!

I met some really lovely doggy owners last Sunday, and I shared a very fun “Schnauzer” joke with one lady in particular!!  Her hubby already knew the joke, but I couldn’t possibly share it here!

I was raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind NI, with £1 from each decal purchase going to them, so I managed to raise £10, so Thank you to you all for your contributions.
